Building Beauty, Inc. (“Building Beauty”) is a tax-exempt Section 501(c)(3) corporation created by Brooke Mandelbaum, a student at Chaparral High School.

Building Beauty was established to promote the inner and outer beauty of low-income high-school aged women, who might also experience homelessness or domestic abuse.   

Events hosted by Building Beauty to distribute purchased or donated clothing and beauty products are designed to make the beneficiaries feel special and “beautiful”. An example is a yoga session focusing on mental health while providing yoga clothes, mats and makeup, with Brooke sharing her personal experiences and inspirations for staring Building Beauty.

Building Beauty has been designated as a Qualified Charitable Organization by the Arizona Department of Revenue and donations are eligible for a state income tax credit as described below. ​Building Beauty's beneficiaries are Arizona residents who are either (i) Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) benefit recipients or (ii) low-income residents whose household income is less than 150% of the federal poverty level.

​​Importantly, no salaries or other compensation will be paid to anyone connected to Building Beauty.  A board of directors has been established to make sure donations are property distributed and the nonprofit meets the requirements of the IRC Section 501(c)(3).
