Building Beauty, Inc. (“Building Beauty”) is a tax-exempt Section 501(c)(3) corporation created by Brooke Mandelbaum, a student at Chaparral High School.

Building Beauty was established to raise monetary and non-monetary donations of clothing and beauty products. These items will be provided to Arizona residents who are either (i) Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) benefit recipients or (ii) low-income residents whose household income is less than 150% of the federal poverty level.

The beneficiaries of Building Beauty's donations are residents of local women’s and children’s shelters, whether from homelessness or domestic abuse. Events will be planned and held by Building Beauty to distribute the purchased or donated items. These events will be designed to make the beneficiaries feel special and “beautiful”. Clothing will be provided that is school, work and interview-appropriate.  Additionally, Brooke Mandelbaum will personally teach the women and children how to correctly use the beauty products and apply makeup as well as coordinate and try on outfits.

Importantly, no salaries or other compensation will be paid to anyone connected to Building Beauty.  A board of directors has been established to make sure donations are property distributed and the nonprofit meets the requirements of the IRC Section 501(c)(3).
